As the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Alvia, Josh leads the Investment Team to deliver on the investment needs and goals of Alvia’s clients.

He drives a strong moral compass, client centric attitude and has a fierce passion for getting things right.

Josh offers extensive experience in the investment management space and has studied somewhat constantly in the field over the past 20 years. Most recently Josh established the investment function at Keystone Private. Prior to this Josh worked as the Head of Private Clients at Dalton Nicol Reid. Earlier roles were with Macquarie, Goldman Sachs/JBWere and ANZ Private Bank.

Josh’s involvement in several active and successful business ventures in the health and education sectors, bring a unique understanding of business to the Alvia Investment Philosophy.

Josh has built an Investment Team of the highest calibre, bringing together not only the sharpest minds in the investment space, but good people who share his genuine care for people and the need to ‘do things right’.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Economics (Finance) degree, a Master of Applied Finance, Diploma in Financial Services, a Certificate in Value Investing from Columbia University and recently completed the Advanced Management Program at Melbourne Business School.

In 2019 Josh was a national finalist in the ifa Excellence Awards Individual Investment Advisor of the Year category.

As a Director and Investment Committee member, Eddie leads the management of the operational and financial aspects of the Alvia business.

He has a can-do attitude and dedication to delivering a dynamic business and continuous improvement approach.

Eddie has over 20 years’ experience across financial services and commercial roles, and with valuable experience in a range of C-suite positions across a number of industries. Most recently he has established and run an independent CFO advisory business and partnered with a range of clients to support their business growth in niche markets.

Eddie continues to be an active investor and advisor across property, health and tourism related ventures, where he brings experience and understanding to specific financial and operational challenges and strategies.

As a life-long learner, Eddie has completed a range of studies including a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from The University of Queensland. After graduation Eddie completed the CFA Charter, and has participated in a number of Executive Education courses at both Harvard Business School and the UQ Business School.

Outside of his professional interests, Eddie is active in a number of sports and passionate about coaching and mentoring youth sporting teams, which complete a busy life with his four young children.

As Chief Executive Officer, Nathan drives the strategic direction and sustainable growth strategy of the business, leading distribution efforts across all segments; family office, high net-worth families, wealth management partnerships and for-purpose organisations.

Nathan has 20 years’ experience in the investment industry, having worked across multiple disciplines within financial services. Prior to joining Alvia, Nathan was a Director for UBS, heading up wholesale asset consultant relationships and several national key accounts, including private banks, family offices, financial advisory and other wealth management firms.

Prior to UBS, Nathan worked for Colonial First State where he was responsible for the distribution of Colonial’s asset management capabilities (now known as First Sentier Investors). Nathan also represented several global investment managers across a range of asset classes, including Acadian Asset Management (Boston), Aspect Capital (London), Generation Investment Management (London), Realindex Investments (Sydney) and Sanlam Global Investment Solutions (Cape Town). Nathan began his career working in wealth management at the Commonwealth Bank.

Nathan holds a Bachelor of Business (double majors in Economics and Banking & Finance), an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (majoring in Financial Planning), a Diploma of Financial Services and has been awarded the Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation.

Jim was formerly the State Chief Investment Officer at QIC, and prior to that the Managing Director Global Multi-Assets at QIC

Jim’s distinguished QIC career has recently ended, and he has joined the Alvia Investment Committee to bring a further depth to our independence, in addition to significant experience and perspectives in financial markets

Prior to QIC, Jim spent 6 years transforming Telstra Super as their Chief Investment Officer

Jim chairs the Alvia investment committee and supports in the oversight of Alvia’s investment process, in addition to compliance and governance processes.

As a Portfolio Manager, Chris leads the analysis and portfolio management for Alvia’s Australian, international and listed property equities investments, whilst supporting the analysis of alternatives, fixed income and private investment opportunities.

Chris’ passion for investing started back in early high school, when he made his first share investment from money saved from his part time job.

Chris has over 15 years’ experience working in professional services, corporate and funds management roles in Australia and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Alvia, Chris worked as an investment analyst at Hyperion Asset Management, a Brisbane-based equities fund manager, covering the research of Australian and international equities.

Chris’ experience across two countries and several roles and industries, most recently in funds management, has assisted in the development of the Alvia Investment Philosophy and portfolio management process.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) degree from The University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance (Corporate Finance/Advisory) from Kaplan Professional. Chris is a CFA Charterholder.

As a Portfolio Manager, James is focused on finding high quality investments across both listed and unlisted markets whilst ensuring the portfolio composition appropriately reflects the risk taken.

James has a keen interest and passion for private markets and enjoys ‘looking under the hood’ of businesses to truly understand what makes them tick. He believes investments can be found all over.

James has a real care for people and his clients and believes investors should have the opportunity to invest in any asset class, liquidity, or geography/sector and enjoys offering this open-minded approach to investing at Alvia.

James previously worked with Josh for five years as an Investment Analyst, building out the Investment Function at Keystone Private Wealth, which is Alvia today.

James holds a dual degree in Commerce (Finance) and Economics (International Trade and Finance) from the University of Queensland (UQ), a Diploma in Financial Services (RG146) and is an Accredited Derivatives Advisor (ADA1).

Matthew is a member of Alvia Asset Partners’ Investment Committee and will meet with the Investment Team on a regular basis to challenge and review the investment strategy process.

Matthew is the Principal of Millers Point Company, an advisory business focused on growth and turnaround investment. He was the Co-founder of Diversa Ltd, a former Venture Capital investor for QIC and experienced ICM for venture capital and growth equity investment funds.

Matthew is currently a Director for: Infratech Growth Partners, Logicamms Ltd (ASX:LCM), Total Brain Ltd (ASX: TTB), Leaf Resources Ltd (ASX:LER) and Think Mobility.

As an Investment Analyst, Daniel assists the Portfolio Managers and Chief Investment Officer across all asset classes. Daniel is successful in his role, given his inherent drive to focus on the detail and understand companies at a deeper level, beyond their share price and key metrics.

Daniel has a uniquely blended background, working within start-ups, venture capital firms and listed corporations, and was the Portfolio Manager at a student lead investment fund. Each experience has cultivated his appetite for challenge and delivering results.

Daniel has a relentless passion for making sure things are done the right way and strives to be bold and respectful in his approach.

As Client Service Manager, Kerilee aims to bring unparalleled support and innovative solutions to Alvia’s clients to improve their investment experience. Kerilee is passionate about process improvement and making a difference through helping others.

Kerilee has 8 years’ experience working in the investment management industry within Australia and South Africa. Prior to joining Alvia, Kerilee was an Investment Operations Supervisor at Channel Capital, where she gained valuable insights into the back and middle-office functions of funds management. In South Africa, Kerilee held positions as an Operations Analyst and Client Service Specialist at PortfolioMetrix, a Discretionary Investment Manager partnering with financial adviser firms.

Kerilee holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Management with distinction from the Independent Institute of Education.

Outside of work, Kerilee enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it be mountain biking, hiking or heading to the beach. She also likes to explore her creative side in baking, art, scrapbooking, and DIY.

As a Research Analyst, Mitch brings a strong foundation in financial analysis and investment research with an enthusiasm for client relationships. He holds a Bachelor of Actuarial Science, earned under an Excellence scholarship, and is a CFA Charterholder, reflecting his commitment to financial analysis and professional development.

Prior to Alvia, Mitch gained valuable experience at Pinnacle Investment Management, contributing to investment solutions, and Youi Insurance, where he honed his risk management skills. His background equips him with a sophisticated understanding of both actuarial and investment sectors, making him a valuable asset in providing insightful research for capital allocation.

Harley is a member of Alvia Asset Partner’s Advisory Board and will meet with the team on a regular basis to provide independent challenge and strategic advice.

Harley has over 20 years’ experience in investments and the funds management industry. Harley was the co-founder, director and CEO of Dalton Nicol Reid until 2014, one of Australia’s leading and recognised Australian Equities fund managers. Harley founded investment manager Altor Capital in 2015.
